Terence Sittampalam Arulanandan (Arul) assumed duty as the 45th President of of RC of Colombo South from 1st of July 2021. An unassuming Rotarian with a diverse view to serve mankind considers Rotary as the ideal platform to fulfil his passion . Considering the current Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown related issues his installation was a hybrid event with few members gathering physically and the rest on virtual plat form. He is the second such President in our Club to take the mantle during trying circumstances.
Arul currently functions as Director at George Steuart Insurance Brokers Colombo who are one of the leading insurance intermediaries in Srilanka and in the Asian region.
Prior to George Steuarts he served in the role of Director Insurance at Finlay Insurance Brokers and Managing Director of Finlays Maldives (Pvt) Ltd, Republic of Maldives.
Arul counts a vast experience in insurance underwriting and brokering and is a well known personality amongst his peers in Srilanka and Maldives.
Arul an Alumni of INSEAD Singapore and INSEAD Fontainbleau France has represented Finlays which is a SWIRE group company at various forums in Singapore, Maldives ,Dubai India and China.
He. was invited to speak at the “One Belt One Road’ International conference at Beijing China in the year 2016 in which he presented a paper on Insurance related opportunities in Sri Lanka and Maldives.
Arul an Old Boy of Royal college Colombo 7 has a lovely family and his wife Roshani a Chartered Secretary and a Director at SSP Corporate services . His daughter Sarah is reading for a degree at the Macquarie University in Sydney Australia. His Son Samuel studies at S Thomas college Mt Lavinia and plays Cricket for his school .
